Switch between rear-wheel and front-wheel drive in one chair
The Merits Dualer is built around an unusual dual-drive design that allows you to use the chair in either rear-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. Rotate the seat 180°, lock it into place, and the chair changes driving orientation without requiring a separate base. Dual footplates support either configuration.
That flexibility gives you two different driving layouts in a single power wheelchair while retaining a compact 21-inch turning radius for maneuvering through tighter indoor spaces.
Raise the seat by 5 inches when you need more height
A built-in 5-inch power elevating seat raises your seated position at the touch of a control, giving you more vertical positioning flexibility without transferring out of the chair.
This feature is integrated directly into the Dualer’s power base, making elevation part of the chair’s everyday functionality rather than an external accessory.
Semi-reclining seating adds another level of adjustability
The ergonomic seat can semi-recline up to 135°, giving you more flexibility to change your seated position throughout the day. The chair is available with 16-inch or 18-inch seat widths, for your comfort preference.
Height-adjustable flip-up armrests provide additional positioning flexibility and can move out of the way when entering or leaving the chair.
Compact dimensions keep maneuverability central
Despite its full-size seating and powered seat lift, the Dualer maintains a 21-inch turning radius, which is one of its defining characteristics.
Its compact frame is specifically designed for maneuverability in narrower spaces and walkways, making the Dualer notably different from larger full-size power chairs with wider turning requirements.
Flat-free wheels reduce routine tire maintenance
The Dualer uses 8-inch solid front tires and 10-inch foam-filled drive tires, eliminating the need to monitor tire pressure. The 10-inch drive tires use a knobby tread designed to provide additional traction.
Removable rear anti-tip wheels are also included as part of the base design.
A full-size power chair centered on versatility
The Dualer supports up to 300 lbs, travels at up to 5 mph, and provides up to 18 miles of range per charge.
At 189 lbs total, with a 97 lb heaviest piece, it is substantially heavier than a portable power wheelchair. If you plan to transport it regularly, a compatible vehicle lift can make loading and traveling with the chair much more practical without requiring you to manually handle its substantial weight.
Its combination of front- or rear-wheel-drive operation, 5-inch seat elevation, semi-reclining seating, and compact turning radius is what most clearly separates the Dualer from a conventional full-size power wheelchair.
