The Merits Travel-Ease P101 combines a folding frame with full-size power wheelchair performance, allowing the chair to collapse for storage or transportation without requiring the same type of multi-piece disassembly used by some portable power chairs.
It weighs 150 lbs total, with an 86 lb heaviest piece, so regular vehicle transport still requires planning around its substantial weight.
Choose between 16-inch, 18-inch, or 20-inch seating
The Travel-Ease is available with 16-inch, 18-inch, and 20-inch seat widths, giving you more flexibility to choose the fit that works best for you.
Its sling-style seating is paired with height-adjustable flip-up armrests and swing-away footrests, while the joystick can be configured for either left- or right-hand operation during setup.
A 23-inch turning radius keeps maneuverability practical
With a 23-inch turning radius, the Travel-Ease can maneuver through relatively confined indoor spaces while still using the larger wheels and ground clearance associated with a more substantial folding power chair.
It travels at up to 4 mph and provides up to 18 miles of range per charge, giving it enough range for routine outings without being centered solely around short-distance indoor use.
Large foam-filled tires remove the worry of flats
The Travel-Ease rides on 8-inch foam-filled front tires and 12.5-inch foam-filled drive tires. The foam-filled construction eliminates the need to maintain tire pressure while retaining the larger drive-wheel size of a traditional wheelchair-style platform.
Rear anti-tip wheels are also included as part of the chair's standard configuration.
Ground clearance adds capability beyond smooth indoor floors
The chair provides 4.5 inches of ground clearance. That gives the Travel-Ease more clearance beneath the frame than many low-profile portable power chairs.
Its 300 lb weight capacity and rear-wheel-drive layout round out a design intended to balance portability, everyday range, and more substantial wheelchair construction.

Freewheel levers allow the drive motors to be disengaged when the chair needs to be pushed manually by a caregiver.
